LEVO AG, then known as Valutec, developed the first stand-up wheelchair in the world. Soon after, in 1976, this world novelty went into serial production in Dottikon (Switzerland) and was supplied to the international market. Model: "F7", manual propel and electric stand-up (M/E).
LEVO Active (LA), the first manual propelled and manual stand-up (M/M) wheelchair was presented to the market. Improvements: modern design, light weight and maneuverability.
Valutec changed the company name to LEVO AG, the brand name, under which the stand-up wheelchairs had always been sold. During the initial years, the parent company “Fischer Dottikon” was responsible for development and production, whereas LEVO AG was responsible for marketing and distribution
The LEVO product range was expanded by the LEVO mobil LCM, powered wheelchair with electrical stand-up (E/E). Already now, the individual needs of wheelchair users were met with the three model types M/M, M/E, E/E and a variety of sizes. The name LEVO became a synonym for stand-up wheelchairs.
LEVO USA Inc. was founded as a subsidaiary in Peachtree City, south of Atlanta GA. As a distribution hub for North America, LEVO USA Inc. was responsible for providing consulting and professional services.
During the international show REHACARE in Düsseldorf, Germany, and MEDTRADE in Atlanta, USA, the LEVO active-easy LAE, manual propelled and manual stand-up wheelchair was introduced, the lightest stand-up wheelchair in the world.
The pediatric chairs LEVO compact-easy KID & JR, manual propel and electric stand-up, complemented the LEVO product range.
During an international distributor meeting in Switzerland, LEVO AG introduced the brand new power wheelchair LEVO combi. Within this combination of centre wheel drive power wheelchair for inside and outside use as well as the multi functionality of the seating, reclining, tilting, laying and standing, this Swiss private company launched a new generation of stand-up wheelchairs.
With the extended version of the multi functional power wheelchair LEVO combi JR for children, the product range of LEVO AG serves also the needs of the very young people in a wheelchair.
The LEVO comfort II releases the LCM and becomes the new stand-up power wheelchair with a high capability for indoor and outdoor use. The strong 4-pol motors and the 70A VSI controller give the chair a great driving characteristic.
LEVO AG in Switzerland and Dane Technologies Inc. in MN partnered together to bring a better quality of life to more wheelchair users of every age across the United States. Meanwhile Dane takes over the management of LEVO USA Inc. and moves the operation from Peachtree City GA up to Brooklyn Park MN.
Dane acquired the outstanding shares of LEVO AG. As a result, LEVO AG becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Dane Technologies Inc.
During the REHACARE in Dusseldorf Germany, LEVO introduced the first and unique 4WD power stand-up wheelchair - LEVO C3. The brand new power base with high driving performance as well as the redesigned seat and stand mechanisme with low shearing and easy assesment benefits gets a high attention within the industry.
The Combi gets a facelift. With a different upper frame and and a cover with integrated mudguards the chair is ready for the future. More and more special controls are available through the productportfolio
LEVO introduces its first non-standing wheelchair series called MAX. MAX comes in three versions, from very basic to very complex. The unique 4 wheel drive system is inherited from C3.
LEVO introduces a brand new standing chair, called Summit. 40 years after the first LEVO standing wheelchair was developed, LEVO designed the lightest standing wheelchair in the market with a weight capacity of 120 kg!
